Jepoyzter’s Favorite Things

Posted by jepoyzter under Random Post, Tech & Gadgets

I was watching Oprah’s episode of her favorite things last night, and maybe I should also list down my own favorite things. Maybe someone is reading my blog, and generously surprise me with a gift this christmas. (wishful thinking)

1. Sony PlayStation 3 (White)
Price: ¥39,979 ($370 USD)Gee, this will really looks nice in my room. One time, I saw this being sold in an online store here in Taiwan. Selling at NT $14000 from usual price of $26,000. Though I cant buy it that day, I have to wait till next morning 10:00AM since its a first-come first-serve item. So I went to my office before 10 and waited for the time. So sad didnt make it, seems someone got ahead of me or is it just a scam? I dont know :(
2. Nokia N82
Price: NT $23,500 ($726 USD)
I’m kinda in love with this phone. I do have an N80 right now, and seems like it’ll be needing some replacement. Will be available around end of November, and I’m having a hard time to decided whether to buy or not.
3. iPod Touch 16GB Price: NT $14,300 ($399 USD) I own one, bought from an officemate of mine for a very low price. This is the closest thing of having an iPhone. So far I am very happy with the functions, even without Jailbreaking it. Love watching my TV show and listening to my music.
4. Porter TOTE Bag Price: Est. NT $3,500-4,500 ($110-130 USD) Looks weird, but a very hot item right. Now, I wish I had an extra stash of cash under my pillow.

A friend of mine forward an email to me a couple of months ago. It is titled “Inday”. While reading the mail, I just cant stop laughing.

“Inday” is a phenomenal character scattered in email and SMS jokes. The work or name “Inday” is commonly used nickname for house-helpers or maids in the Philippines.

I just found out that “Inday” now have a blog. Thank for K’Anne for the info.

My very quick vacation break (Part 2)

Posted by jepoyzter under Random Post

The first time I come back was way back in May 2007, I had a total of 9 days vacation + 1 extension. I already dont know how to fix my schedule. Meet up with friend, dine out with family friends, “lakwatsa” with cousins. What more this time? 5 days??

So the third day, I went out with my past Taiwan gang, Michelle and Joyce. Since Michelle is leaving for US, we planned to go out with our hard to contact friend Joyce. Who is now teaching Chinese language to her tutors. Good thing, Michelle can drive me to Las Pinas first to visit my grandma and fix my cousin’s computer (no luck with fixing the computer). Oh I missed my grandma, both my grandma. I grew up with, while my parents work abroad. So I can’t missed an opportunity to spend time with them. My grandma cook for me my favorite dish, and even had me a take out for me to bring to Taiwan. I told her that I’ll bring her here for vacation. She haven’t been to anywhere outside Metro Manila, or should I say out of the house for years now. She had difficulty in walking, and I pray she could recover her strength just like she can before.

So after I had my delicious lunch, I have to meet up with Joyce at her house where Michelle is spending her boredom hahaha. We decided to go to Tagaytay, requested by me just to buy “Buko Tart”, and “Chicharon”. The three of us didnt know how to get there. All I knew is we have to take the South Express Way and theres an exit which will lead us to Tagaytay. The driver, Michelle, and Joyce from the south both also have no idea which exit to take. So we asked Joyce’s bro for direction over the phone. He says that we have to find San Pedro exit. So we took his advice, and went on. After so many exits past by, and we’re near the end of the express way. We didn’t find any San Pedro exit till were already toll gate. We asked for direction and said that we should have taken Santa Rosa exit which is two exits away before the toll gate. Hay…. eventually we reached our destination. I have to buy lots of coconut tart’s, so Michelle wont get mad after making her drive in insanity hahahaha.

So after that, we drove back to Manila and went to Serendra. A commercial and residential area in Bonifacio Global City. This placed is just newly opened this year and already attracting lots of people. You have to drive by car to get here since theres no passenger utility vehicle passes by. But you can take a jeep to Market Market, and walk to Serendra. :)

We had early dinner at Italiannis and window shopped at some boutiques near by. We also check out Fully Booked, a four floor bookstore at Bonifacio High Street. Its like Eslite Bookstore here in Taiwan. After that we call it a day, and went home.

To be continued…

My very quick vacation break (Part 1)

Posted by jepoyzter under Random Post

Sad to say my vacation just past by like a wind gust. I need more vacation MORE MORE MORE! Sigh… I missed all the food I ate from my 5 day food fiesta. Good thing that I didn’t gain more pounds.

Flying via Cebu Pacific super duper low rate air-fare for only $2,830 NTD or P3,350 Pesos. Thanks for Christian for keeping me informed.

This is my first time to fly via Cebu Pacific, and I didn’t expect too much from them. NO Food (wow I lived), very stiff seats and non-recline able, if could be reclined just 1 or 2 inch. Smell of cup noodles on board is really gross, imagine mixed smell of chicken, beef, seafood flavor, then someone will fart. Yeah someone farted! Hay, budget air nga naman talaga…. I agree with their slogan, its really time for everyone to fly. Ok forget about my tragic moments. Sulit naman eh, except for the fart.

I am quite a bit excited coming back home, my grandma didn’t know I was flying back, neither some of my relatives. I just come back to spend “All Saints Day”, its been my routine visiting my grandfather’s grave every year before I left for Taiwan, and I missed two years. Though I didn’t met them in person when they’re still alive, but it is my way of giving my respect for them. I would always wonder how does it feel like having a grandfather while growing up.

There’s been a lot of changes in Manila, malls sprouting like mushrooms, restaurants that are scattered every where. Now, should I compare it with Taiwan. Both city is a good place to live in, I think any city could be. Though Taiwan is more like a commercial area, just for business. You have to live on the outskirts of Taipei to live with less expense. Unlike in Manila you get the best of both worlds. But the problems are security, garbage, pollution, and traffic. Sigh if only they can solve this problem, Manila could be one of the most livable city in Asia, or even the whole world.

And speaking of malls, I visited this new mall in Quezon City called “Trinoma”. One among Ayala’s famous mall nowadays. On weekends it is jammed pack with people. Good thing it was a holiday and a long vacation for my fellow Filipinos. Most of them are in the province to celebrate Halloween. So you can only see few people inside the mall. A good time to shop.

Accompanied by my sister, and four of my cousins. We plan to eat to my favorite fast food restaurant “Jollibee”. Oh Jollibee, if you only knew how I missed you. Hahahaha. Actually last May, I also went back to Manila for my grandma’s 80th birthday. I promised myself that I will bond with Jollibee. If only I can request Lola’s party to be held at Jollibee, I would. First few days of stay, no sign of Jollibee. Till we went to Cebu and Bohol, still no Jollibee. I am so desperate, till my aunts went to a boutique and spend hours in buying clothes. There I went all by myself and look for Jollibee. Ahhhhh, the smell of Chicken Joy and Jolly Spaghetti. Yummy….. Lucky this time I am able to eat twice.
