Let’s Have Lunch
Posted by jepoyzter under Food, Random Post
I remember I posted something on my previous blog on blogspot years ago about what I eat for lunch here in Taiwan. May be I can make a take two about it. In our office most of us goes in groups and more often we go alone for lunch. So today some colleagues ask me if I want to grab a bento-box or what they call them in chinese PianDang or 便當.
Here’s what I had for lunch.

I rarely eat fish. But when I saw it from the glass window, it looks yummy and seems like bought fresh. I prefer steamed fish though, much healthier. And look who’s talking about health. Anyway aside from the very HUGE fish you see on the picture, I also ordered a piece of sausage, bell button mushrooms, toufu, and a cup of rice. The fish really taste great, YUM YUM.
Most foreign peoples comment about bento-box is its oily. Specially when you ordered something fried. But they come very cheap, price ranges from 40 - 100 bucks per meal. 40 if you only pick veggies and 100 if you like meat. But my fish cost 50 and other all together for 50. So a grand total of 110. Sigh….

By the way, I have a small plant on my table. I got it from an exchange gift we had here last Christmas. I don’t know what kind of plant it is. They are all starting to sprout. Awwww… that because of too much love and care. Hahahaha
A big guy and a tiny plant.

Ahhhh, so thats how they call it. Quarterlife Crisis
Posted by jepoyzter under Random Post
I have the habit of reading my friends status messages every time I go online. And last night I saw Candy’s status message and read her blog. Ahhhh, yun pala tawag dun. Its Quarterlife crisis.
This is from Wikipedia and thanks for Candy for the link:
Definition: The quarterlife crisis (QLC) is a term applied to the period of life immediately following the major changes of adolescence, usually ranging from the ages of 21 - 29. The term is named by analogy with mid-life crisis. It is now recognised by many therapists and professionals in the mental health field.
Characteristics of quarter-life crisis may include:
- feeling “not good enough” because one can’t find a job that is at one’s academic/intellectual level
- frustration with relationships, the working world, and finding a suitable job or career
- confusion of identity
- insecurity regarding the near future
- insecurity regarding present accomplishments
- re-evaluation of close interpersonal relationships
- disappointment with one’s job
- nostalgia for university, college, high school or elementary school life
- tendency to hold stronger opinions
- boredom with social interactions
- financially-rooted stress
- loneliness
- desire to have children
- a sense that everyone is, somehow, doing better than you
Bolded are characteristics that I have. See… 12 out of 14. Should I see a phyciatrist?
For more information, read more about Quarterlife Crisis on Wikipedia.

I just cant wait for Chinese New Year.
Jeff, just 3 more weeks. Patience….
Busy day at work today. Have to finish the icons I made for an application. It is my first time doing a very small icon, and I am not happy doing it. Really? It sucks and its hard. Grrr, I thought I can finished it in a day. But comment and problems about it are coming like bow arrows straight to my chest. I end the day doing it and haven’t heard from RD yet. Well, I’ll just check my email tomorrow just to know if I satisfied them. I hope I do, coz its really freaking hard doing icons from scratch. And, thank you for letting me knnow that theres this application that can make instant icons in a flash. But its too late.
Theres just one thing that I looked forward yesterday. Its a namelist of people who will be awarding on our year-end party. Though I haven’t got the list for TPO (Taipei Office). I already know who they’ll be awarding at SHO (Shanghai Office). Hehehe, sorry no spoiler here my dear colleagues.
Like I told you from my previous entry that I’ll be discussing with our CEO about my PDPR. Well it quite went well and quite funny. I thought I’ll be discussing with him just for 3-5 minutes, but took 30-45 minutes. Many things have been discussed, I even gave my boss a heads up about my plan this 2008. Good thing he’s understanding.

Oh I just noticed something. My mom placed 3 calendars by the living room and dining room alone. Actually we don’t have a living room, its just like a corridor between our room and the dining room.
What is mom thinking? Is she try to make wallpaper out of calendar? Lakas man trip.

My blog-mates are crazy about 王力宏 (Wang Li Hong)
Posted by jepoyzter under Music, Random Post
Why is I am the only one not blogging about this guy? Bro. Mike already blogged about him almost a year ago. Allan also did few days back. And tonight visiting Candy’s blog, she also did blogged about him. Hmmm am I missing something here?
I am a proud fan of this guy. Not fan as in the one who always be on every events he attends, or someone who loves collecting tons of pictures of him and posting them on the four corners of my bedroom wall. What I mean is that, I salute to this guy’s talent. He has a very powerful wonderful voice, he plays different kinds of instruments, can write songs in an instant, and much more. Can sing in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Now he is into acting. Though “Lust and Caution” is not his debut project as an actor. But it is a really big step for this guy working with Ang Lee an Academy Award Winning Director. As in wow wow wow. And recently I just read on the newspaper that his concert in Las Vegas was a major success. Sheesh….
I have most of his latest albums. The first time I heard his song “心中的日月” way back in 2005. I borrowed money from my dad just to get a copy of his album. That time, I think, I just started working and havent receive my first pay check. I kept on playing and playing it on my iPod for months. Then few weeks after, he did release another version of the album. The only difference is the packaging and theres an additional DVD which includes music videos from that album. That I also have. It is quite natural here in Taiwan. So in 2006 he again release “Heroes of Earth” and did a major concert which I missed and now regrets not being their after a years wait. Anyway, not a half year long he release “Change Me” or “改片自己”.
I just wishing right now that he would do another major concert this year, and I promise that I would watch it.

The Past Couple of Days
Posted by jepoyzter under Random Post, TV
I started watching Brothers & Sisters after reading an awesome review of it on the net. Here’s a description from Amazon.com.
Enter the complex world of the Walkers, and explore what it means to be an American family in the 21st century. Though they live very different and conflicting lives, the Walkers find unity under the family roof. Relationships bend but never break as they strive to find their own identities and embrace each other’s differences. It’s “an encounter to look forward to,” says The Wall Street Journal. Get caught up in one of television’s most reflective and sophisticated dramas. Calista Flockhart, Sally Field, Rachel Griffiths, Ron Rifkin, Balthazar Getty and Patricia Wettig lead a stellar cast in ABC’s critically acclaimed hit Brothers & Sisters. Experience every episode of Season One, including exclusive, in-depth bonus material, in this six-disc DVD set.
I did really like the show. Totally changes my perception of having a big family. I think having 4 or more sibling is more fun that I imagine. But contrary to mine, this would not apply. FYI, I have two sibling. A brother and a sister, both younger than me.
I only get to watch some few episodes on my iPod, and it is really a must watched show.

I spend my weekend at home. Worked on some rushed projects. Hay….. kailan ba ako matatapos? But I gave myself a treat and went shopping. Bagged 2 pairs for jeans and 3 shirts, and bought mom a pair of shoes. Hihirit pa sana ng bag hahahaha…

I’ve been very busy lately at work. Second time in a row to do overtime. Sigh its really stressful, but this is better than just wasting time the past few weeks and months ago.
I am quite nervous about this afternoon. I have to talked with our CEO to discuss my Personal Development Performance Review. I don’t know if I write it correctly. It is my first to do such kind of stuff. It’s like an interview again. Felt like I am applying for another job. So the verdict could be you’re in or your out.

Posted by jepoyzter under Faith, Music
Aside from collecting lots of Chinese Mandarin album. Again I spend some bucks buying Christian Contemporary Albums last Wednesday at my favorite neighborhood Christian store ELIM.
I think they should be paying me for the advertisement.
So I was still looking for a Steven Curtis Chapman album, yet still no luck. So went to the new releasd section and found this three albums.

Lakeview Worship - Make You Known
In my search for new live worship bands just like Hillsong and Gateway Worship. I found this. At first I mistakenly thought that Lakewood released a new worship album. I don’t have any reviews yet right now. It would take me 3-4 times to listen before I can write one. So let me just share one the track inside this album. Listen to “I Want To Be With You” |

John Waller - The Blessing
Grey Holiday - The Glorious Revolution Both albums have a sticker on the cover “Pick Me Up Bestseller”, I don’t know idea if they were really are best seller. Since only two album have the sticker. I pick both of them. John Waller is somewhat like Michael W. Smith. I am quite disappointed that there only 7 tracks in this album, though it’s an enhanced CD. Actually theres only 6 tracks the last track is a recorded interview of the band. I just played some previews of each song from both this album. So will post again a review later, or if really like them I will feature them like Gateway Worship. |
