Categorizing your post on blogspot

Posted by jepoyzter under Tutorials

Hi nutriXx! It is nice to hear that you’ve found my site through loudfusion.com. Though what is loudfusion.com anyway? It’s the first timeI heard of that site. But anyway thanks for loudfusion.com fro bringing you here.

Well, because you post a question on my tag board. I would like to answer you question.

I noticed that your using Blogspot to create your blog “Inspired by a Word”.

To categorize your post on Blogspot. You must add labels to each post.

1. When you click on “Posting” on your Blogspot CMS (Content Management System), it’ll automatically let you create a new post.

2. Now, you can write a new article.

3. After you finish creating an article on the bottom right of your text editor you’ll see a  test field says “Labels for this post”.

4. On the text field, write or key in some keywords or labels for you post. For example, your post talks about you “vacation in Paris”. You can label this post as “vacation” or “trips”.

5. If you have more than 1 label for your post you can key in as many as you can following this format “Label1, Label2, Label3, Label4, …” (e.g. Vacation, Paris, Eiffel Tower, Romance, France, Summer Vacation). Take note that each label must be separated with a comma (,).

6. Now save and publish your post.

7. To make the categories or labels appear on your site’s sidebar.

8. Click on the “Template” tab.

9. It’ll show you all elements that are now showing on your site.

10. By default, you’ll see the header, blog post, side bars which contains (blog archive, and about me).

11. On the side bar click on “Add a page element”.

12. A window will pop-up and will show you all elements that can be added on you site.

13. Look for “Labels” and click on “Add to blog”.

14. Now you can change the element’s name from “Labels” to “Categories”. This is optional.

15. Select sorting option. You can have your categories or labels sorted alphabetically, or have it sorting by number of post belonging to that category.

16. Now click on “Save Changes”

17. Now you’ll see “Labels” added on your side bar.

18. Save your current layout.

19. Then “View Blog” to check if its working.

Hope this post of mine can help you. Cheers!
