RE: Caleb Chapman
Posted by jepoyzter under Music
Last night, Cand IM me and introduce me to Steven Curtis Chapman’s son, Caleb Chapman with matching URL to his site.
Since last night, I am quite busy looking for something over the internet. I took the liberty of checking out his site. My habit when I checked someone artist’s site. I always go to discography and check if had done some albums. But the site doesn’t have any links to anything. Just hi MySpace site and a site where he has some gigs. But good thing theres a music player thats running on the background playing “Hallelujah”. And I said, “Wow, this kid really has talent”. I think not only he inherit his Dad’s talent. But this kid is really God gifted with music.
After a few more research I found out that he belong to a band named “The Following” as a lead vocalist and plays guitar. Together with his brother Will Chapman on drums, DJ Lipscomb on lead guitar and vocals, and Dale Lipscomb on bass. Checkout the band’s MySpace.
P.S. Check out “Grace” on Caleb’s site its on Track 2.

Loving Colbie Caillat
Posted by jepoyzter under Music
I know you heard of Colbie Caillat. Whoever doesn’t know about her must be persecuted. Hahahaha… Really she’s HOT! HOT! HOT!
Ok, for those who don’t know her. Let turn over to our ever reliable source of info Mr. Wiki. According to Mr. Wiki.
Colbie Marie Caillat (born May 28, 1985 in Newbury Park, California) is an American pop singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Malibu, California. Her father, Ken Caillat, co-produced Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours and Tusk albums; Caillat recalls being around the likes of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie as a child.
Caillat is noted for her MySpace profile which led her to become the number-one unsigned singer in her genre for four months. Her popularity on the social network was partially due to her song “Bubbly”. Her profile has garnered over thirty-one million plays. For the week of July 17, 2007, “Bubbly” was featured on the iTunes Store as the free “Single of the Week”. The promotion coincided with the release of Coco, her debut studio album. Caillat was also spotlighted by Rhapsody during the 2007 Black Friday Sale at Best Buy.
According to her MySpace profile, Caillat was first inspired to start singing at age eleven when she first heard the Fugees’ 1996 version of the song “Killing Me Softly”, made famous by Roberta Flack in 1973. Her MySpace profile also cites that, though trained at piano from an early age, Caillat didn’t begin playing guitar until age nineteen.
I just watched her newly released video “Realize”. It’s quite a low budget production. But who cares? Just watch her video I grabbed from Youtube below. Enjoy!

Yael Naim

I think you already heard of her. No? Oh come on… you’ve been humming to her song since you watch the Macbook Air ad. Yeah! It’s her song called “New Soul”.
According to Wiki:
Yael Naïm is a French-Israeli singer who is most well-known for the song New Soul, which was featured in the debut commercial for Apple Inc’s brand new MacBook Air presented at Macworld 2008.
She was born in Paris in 1978 to Jewish Tunisian parents. At the age of four, she moved with her family to Ramat HaSharon, Israel. She released her second album, Yael Naïm, in the fall of 2007.
Her song “New Soul” is really catchy and really suites for the new Macbook Air. Sigh I like her voice even though I only hear one song from her.
Just listen to this song “New Soul”, mapapaLSS ka!
Lyrics:
I’m a new soul I came to this strange world,
Hoping I could learn a bit about how to give and take.
But since I came here felt the joy and the fear,
Finding myself making every possible mistake
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la…
I’m a young soul in this very strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit about what is true and fake.
But why don’t please trying to communicate
Finding just that love is not always easy to make.
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la…
This is a happy end
Cause’ you don’t understand
Everything you have done
Why’s everything so wrong
This is a happy end
Come and give me your hand
I’ll take your far away.
[Refrain]:
I’m a new soul I came to this strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit about how to give and take
But since I came here felt the joy and the fear
Finding myself making every possible mistake
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la…
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la….

My blog-mates are crazy about 王力宏 (Wang Li Hong)
Posted by jepoyzter under Music, Random Post
Why is I am the only one not blogging about this guy? Bro. Mike already blogged about him almost a year ago. Allan also did few days back. And tonight visiting Candy’s blog, she also did blogged about him. Hmmm am I missing something here?
I am a proud fan of this guy. Not fan as in the one who always be on every events he attends, or someone who loves collecting tons of pictures of him and posting them on the four corners of my bedroom wall. What I mean is that, I salute to this guy’s talent. He has a very powerful wonderful voice, he plays different kinds of instruments, can write songs in an instant, and much more. Can sing in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Now he is into acting. Though “Lust and Caution” is not his debut project as an actor. But it is a really big step for this guy working with Ang Lee an Academy Award Winning Director. As in wow wow wow. And recently I just read on the newspaper that his concert in Las Vegas was a major success. Sheesh….
I have most of his latest albums. The first time I heard his song “心中的日月” way back in 2005. I borrowed money from my dad just to get a copy of his album. That time, I think, I just started working and havent receive my first pay check. I kept on playing and playing it on my iPod for months. Then few weeks after, he did release another version of the album. The only difference is the packaging and theres an additional DVD which includes music videos from that album. That I also have. It is quite natural here in Taiwan. So in 2006 he again release “Heroes of Earth” and did a major concert which I missed and now regrets not being their after a years wait. Anyway, not a half year long he release “Change Me” or “改片自己”.
I just wishing right now that he would do another major concert this year, and I promise that I would watch it.

Posted by jepoyzter under Faith, Music
Aside from collecting lots of Chinese Mandarin album. Again I spend some bucks buying Christian Contemporary Albums last Wednesday at my favorite neighborhood Christian store ELIM.
I think they should be paying me for the advertisement.
So I was still looking for a Steven Curtis Chapman album, yet still no luck. So went to the new releasd section and found this three albums.

Lakeview Worship - Make You Known
In my search for new live worship bands just like Hillsong and Gateway Worship. I found this. At first I mistakenly thought that Lakewood released a new worship album. I don’t have any reviews yet right now. It would take me 3-4 times to listen before I can write one. So let me just share one the track inside this album. Listen to “I Want To Be With You” |

John Waller - The Blessing
Grey Holiday - The Glorious Revolution Both albums have a sticker on the cover “Pick Me Up Bestseller”, I don’t know idea if they were really are best seller. Since only two album have the sticker. I pick both of them. John Waller is somewhat like Michael W. Smith. I am quite disappointed that there only 7 tracks in this album, though it’s an enhanced CD. Actually theres only 6 tracks the last track is a recorded interview of the band. I just played some previews of each song from both this album. So will post again a review later, or if really like them I will feature them like Gateway Worship. |

林俊傑 JJ Lin
Posted by jepoyzter under Music
林俊傑 (JJ Lin) one among Michelle’s recommended male Chinese singer the time I set foot here in Taiwan. I remember her telling me, “He has a very nice voice, but not cute”. Ok…. hahahaha… Well in deed he really have a very nice voice and quite unique among other Chinese singers. Second among my all time favorite 王力宏 (LeeHom Wang) who’s now doing a lot more acting.
I have this album for quite sometime, like 3 to 4 months ago. I only got to listen to the whole album last Saturday, when I am busy doing my house chores and gets me on the groove.
I think this is the best ever compiled album 林俊傑 did. I listen to it morning till night! hahaha… Anyway if you like listening to Chinese Mandarin pop music. He’s the one you must not missed.

A Prayer Request
Prayer request for my grandma, she’s not feeling well these past few days. Diagnose with UTI (Urinary Trunk Infection)

Lead Me Lord
Heard this song on Bro. Mike’s blog. I think, it has been there for the longest time and just noticed it now. I was telling Bro. Mike that it was my first time to hear that song. By the voice, I know it’s Gary Valenciano. Who wouldn’t notice that. He’s my favorite OPM (Original “Pinoy” Music) singer. He has such a very powerful voice, specially when he sing Christian song. You will notice that he sings through his heart.
I also learned that this song is quite old. Originally sang by Mr. Basil Valdez, another OPM singer. Then revived by Gary.

Addition to my CD Collection

I was looking for some new released Christian album. It’s been a while since my last visit to a christian bookstore, the last one was 3 months ago. So went to Integrity Music’s website, and found out that two among my favorite band just released new albums. So went to ELIM quickly to see if they already had stocks.
First one I saw is Parachute Band’s latest album “Roadmaps and Revelation”, they are the same band that sang “Complete” from “All The Earth Album”. One thing I noticed is that they no longer have a female vocalist. What happened? Well what matter is the music. I haven’t listen to this album yet, but definitely it’ll be loud and at the same time inspiring.
Next, is Josh Groban’s “Noel”. I cant believe that I can buy it from a Christian bookstore. I was waiting for this album to be released at record bars. But to my disappointment, they didn’t. Luckily, ELIM has it. I heard so much about this album, Sis Emy recommended it months ago, even provided me a link where I can download the whole album. Sadly, I lost the link. Hehehe… anyway the wait is over and I got myself a copy. Whew, Josh Groban’s voice is really pleasing to the ears. Specially when he sang “Silent Night” and “I’ll be Home for Christmas”. Very heart warming, and you’ll really feel the spirit of Christmas while listening to this album. I recommend this album for those who live in countries who doesn’t celebrate Christmas like TAIWAN.
Last, on my list is Desperation Band’s latest album “Everyone Overcome”. Their first debut album is awesome. The melody and lyrics are great, just like Hillsong. So when I saw on the net that they have released a new album, I’ll definitely get one. So I did went to the NEW RELEASED section of the store, quite disappointed that its not there. So I assumed that it is not yet released yet in Taiwan. But something told me that I have to browse all section, luckily the store is organized alphabetically. There it is…. I approached someone from the teller and ask him why is this album not on the New Released section and told me that he doesn’t know. OK….So what have you purchased recently? hehehee
