Colorgenics

Posted by jepoyzter under Uncategorized

I tried this test I read from Kat’s blog. Its called Colorgenics, and this is what the test says about me. you be the judge.

———————————————————————————–

You have always longed for tenderness, love and a sensitivity of feeling into which you would like to blend. You are a very gentle warm person and responsive to ‘All things bright and beautiful’. This personifies a caring person, a person who ‘needs’ and indeed ‘needs to be needed’.

You are working extremely hard – perhaps even above and beyond the call of duty. You are preparing for the future and therefore trying to build a firm trouble-free foundation upon which you may base all of your dreams and aspirations.

Although you are, deep down, a very caring person, you are very particular in the choice of friends and indeed very demanding at times. You can be most quarrelsome and controversial and it is because of this argumentative trait you can at times explode into open conflict – conflict with even those you may care for and love. It is because of this inherent argumentative streak in you that may have resulted in broken hopes and dreams.

You are feeling trapped by the situation as it stands at this time and what is more, you feel powerless to remedy it. You are stressful, angry and disgruntled. You feel that everything that you try to do to change the situation is thwarted and your hopes and aspirations all seem to be receding into the ever distant future. You have reached the state where you now doubt whether your dreams will ever be achieved and this is not only causing mental stress but heartache. You need to get away from it all – you need to have time to think, to recuperate, to be able to make your own decisions.

You wish to be left in peace… no more conflict and no more differences of opinion. In fact you just don’t want to be involved in arguments of any shape or form. All you want is for ‘them’ to get on with it – and to leave you alone.

Top 10 Lies told to Naive Artists and Designers

Posted by jepoyzter under Uncategorized

I stumble upon this article by Mark W. Lewis at Painter Creativity. And I say I must have heard all these things before. Fellow designers like someone says “Dont walk…. RUN… away from them.”

  1. “Do this one cheap (or free) and we’ll make it up on the next one.”
  2. “We never pay a cent until we see the final product.”
  3. “Do this for us and you’ll get great exposure! The jobs will just pour in!”
  4. On looking at sketches or concepts: “Well, we aren’t sure if we want to use you yet, but leave your material here so I can talk to my partner/investor/wife/clergy.”
  5. “Well, the job isn’t CANCELLED, just delayed. Keep the account open and we’ll continue in a month or two.”
  6. “Contract? We don’t need no stinking contact! Aren’t we friends?”
  7. “Send me a bill after the work goes to press.”
  8. “The last guy did it for XXX dollars.”
  9. “Our budget is XXX dollars, firm.”
  10. “We are having financial problems. Give us the work, we’ll make some money and we’ll pay you. Simple.”

My most recent purchases…

Posted by jepoyzter under Random Post, Uncategorized

Right after lunch at Swensen’s and an hour walk inside Eslite Bookstore. We’re about to head to ZhongShan North Road to buy bread at Florida Bakery. But before that, we passed by Rockport across Taipei Stadium and Asia World Mall.

I am quite dying to have a new pair of shoes. The last pair I bought was 4 months ago and it’s a Converse sneakers that I couldn’t wear because my feet hurts a lot and can’t breath in it everytime I wear them. But the time I was fitting them they are quite comfy. I don’t know whats wrong with them. Anyways I should try wearing them again soon.

Back to Rockport. Actually I don’t have any intensions of buying a pair of shoes that day. We just enter the store and I started to sit on the couch and let Michelle take her time looking around while I enjoy the cool air of the store’s air conditioning system. It was really hot that day and I was like a faucet sweating. While sitting and at the same time my eyes are rolling through some cool pairs of sandals displayed. I saw a nice pair of boat shoes right below the sandals that I saw. I like boat shoes because they are comfy and I don’t have to wear socks to wear them. I asked the sales lady if they had the biggest size, which I always ask everytime I would like to fit one. So she brought me a size 11. I was wondering, would it fit? Sometimes my feet’s size could go 12 or 13. Well depends on the brand and type. So I started to put both on and walk on it. Yeah they are comfy and fits perfectly. But something bothers me with the design of the shoes with what I am wearing that day. Then I noticed that I am wearing socks. So I tried taking off my socks (good thing my feet doesn’t smell or else I would cause everyone inside the store to suffocate that would cause a massacre in Taipei) then putting them back on. Then there it is. Kaching… kaching… the sound of the cash register. We decided to head out of the store before I could cause a massive damage with my budget for the month. Since I was also eying on the pair of sandals I saw. But thats enough, I am happy with just a pair.

So when we arrive at ZhongShan North Road and after having a sip of 7-11 City Cafe’s Vanilla Ice Coffee which is oh so yummy. We stop by Vivo to check out Hugo Boss’ new perfume. It smells good but I am not that crazy about it. I would still prefer the one I used before which is Girgio Armani’s Aqua Di Gio, that I was planning to buy after I empty a bottle of Bulgari’s Aqua Pour Homme and Clinique’s Happy for Men.

When we enter the store no one entertained us. Not a single one. Though theres like 4 of them inside the store and only one customer plus us. Since no one is entertaining us, we just started testing some bottles on a strips of papers. Then a sales lady comes nearby us and staring at us while talking to her co-sales lady. Thats it, she started to get into my nerves. She looks at us like we don’t have money to buy and we’re just playing with their items. Then Michelle walked near the door and the sales lady followed her with a strange look. Like, I wanna grab her eye balls and soaked them in a gallon of muriatic acid. I just hate people like that. So I didn’t say anything to Michelle, and I just call her and let her try Sean John’s Unforgivable for Men. I liked it the first time I smelled it. The smell is not that strong but its refreshing and quite unique. I somewhat like to buy it 6 months ago. But like what I said , I still have two bottles of used perfumes at home and one thats not opened yet which was a gift to me last year on my birthday.

Then I told her that I was quite intimidated with the clerks attitude. So she was also thinking of buying one for herself. Then the sales lady with the attitude problem approached us and ask “are you looking for something?” in Chinese and in a sarcastic way. Michelle started answering in English and ask her how much is the Bulgari perfume for women. The sales lady told her the price and get another bottle which is a Max Mara perfume. The sales lady is quite pushy with the Max Mara perfume but Michelle can’t smell anything from the perfume. So she tell her that she’ll think about it, but the “makulit” kept on pushing. So I just told the sales lady just get me a bottle of Unforgivable, to have her stop whining. We’ll it doesn’t there. She still kept on talking about promos and stuff if we purchase the perfume she was pushing to us. After a couple of NO’s in the end she stopped and I follow her to the cashier. Paid my purchase, and out of the store. Sheesh…

My dream job…

Posted by jepoyzter under Uncategorized

It’s been almost a week now.

JOBLESS… but happy…

I think this is the most risky thing I did in my entire life. Right after college I didn’t bother being jobless for 2-3 months. But once you start working responsibilities comes and you cant ignore them. Yet, I think this is the right time to assess myself. What things could I still do? and What makes me happy?

Though I have been searching the net for job openings recently and there are some possible opportunities.

Since college I have been dreaming of getting in into editorial and publications. I started my career as a graphic and web designer for an advertising agency here in Taiwan. I felt fulfilled, and though that this could be a start of career I would pursue for the rest of my life. I took the opportunity and learned from experience.

But like most people, you’ll look for better salary and benefits. Thats why I jumped into doing marketing as a product marketing specialist, though I am really not a marketing nor business major. It is a very interesting and challenging field for me. Learning is really tough… and I say I really had a hard time, but in the end you’ll benefit.

I also turned to programming and web applications, which is I really should be doing. I had some cases ranging from easy to brain-draining projects, and I like it.

Now what is in-store for me in the future, no one can tell… But still love to pursue career in publications.

One company I truly dreamed to work for is Conde Nast Publications. Top publication company and home to many of the world’s celebrated magazines and websites.

Next on my list is Future Publications, home of the coolest gadget magazines base in UK. If in fashion magazine you get clothes, here you get gadgets. Really a first glimpse of the future.

CNY 2008 Day 3

Posted by jepoyzter under Random Post, Uncategorized

I decided to stay home today since my feet still hurts and can’t stand walking too long. Theres nothing so special today. The weather is still freaking cold and the rain wont stop 3 days in a row since our vacation start. Just an enough reason to stay in bed and cover yourself with think blanket. So what I did all day is to watch TV and browse the internet.

Speaking of TV. I’ve been religiously watching BravoTV‘s “Project Runway” now in its 4th season. This show is a reality series where aspiring fashion designers compete for a chance to break into the industry. Each week, a designer is eliminated from the competition after exhibiting their work in front of a judges’ panel. Hosted by Heidi Klum with Tim Gunn. I think this year’s batch have the most talented designers compared to the previous season.

For this season my bet is Christian, 21 years old from Annapolis, Maryland. He’s the youngest and most creative among the group. His designs are always love by the judges, and he’s been always on top in most challenges.
Next is Rami 31 years of age born and grew up in Jerusalem. He is quite consistent in the beginning of the show. But after winning a challenge, and almost got eliminated the next challenge. He stick with more safe designs compared to his previous sophisticated style at the beginning. I hope he could find a way to impress the judges and get in and show off at Bryant Park for New York’s fashion week.

Another TV show still from BravoTV that I am watching right now is “Make Me a Supermodel”. You’ll just say its just another reality model search show. But the thing that set this show different from other is that both male and female are in the competition for being the supermodel and winning a $100,000 USD. Hosted by supermodels Niki Taylor and Tyson Beckford. I say Niki Taylor is HOT! HOT! HOT!

My TOP 5 from left to right: Jacki (21), Perry (22), Ronnie (24), Ben (22), Shannon (22)

My all time favorite Jacki and Ronnie, both vert professional and born supermodels to be. Too sad I heard that Ronnie is off for elimination this week. Hope that wont be vote off. Ronnie is not only into modeling but he’s also an aspiring actor. So all of you who can vote. Vote for Ronnie.

After watching some of my TV shows, I went to buy some groceries. But first I window shop for a new phone. At first I really want Nokia’s N82. But after commenting on Bro. Mike blog. I end up torn between N95 and N82. Both don’t have any difference at all. Supports GPS, 5 Megapixel Camera, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, and has big screen. But afterall, I realize my N80 still works perfect for me. So I decided not to buy anymore. Hahaha.
